BAJA CALIFORNIA WINES - A 300 Year Tradition - LA TIMES

Patrick Comiskey
Tradition and climate usually dictate what grows where in the wine world. Napa is Cabernet country because the climate, by and large, is amenable to ripening the grapes. The same can be said for Nebbiolo in Piemonte, Chardonnay in Chablis, Syrah in Hermitage.
So what is warm, dry, Baja California, Mexico, amenable to? All of these varietals, plus everything short of a few cool-climate grapes such as Pinot Noir and Riesling.

Cabo Bisbee Tournament Boat Sinks With All 7 Aboard

A Bisbee Black and Blue Marlin Tournament boat sinks leaving anglers in the drink with no lifeboat.

The capsized boat stayed afloat until the seven men aboard were rescued, but eventually sank. Divers who examined the boat said it had a hole in its hull.

A crew of fishermen that included three Billings businessmen survived unscathed after their boat sank during a marlin fishing tournament off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Wednesday.

“We didn’t win the tournament, but we’re happy to be home and alive,” said Carter Stewart, owner of Cardinal Oil and Stewart Geological in Billings.

CAN ONLY THE RICH CAN AFFORD DENTISTRY? - New York Times

Dentistry care in the US is increasingly becoming something that only the upscale segment of society can afford causing many to leave the US on “Dental Vacations” to Mexico and Asia to find affordable dental care. -ed

NY Times article By Reed Abelson

With dental costs rising and employers cutting dental coverage, an increasing number of working Americans cannot afford to see a dentist even for chronic problems. If you need a full-mouth restoration, several root canals, 27 crowns or dental implants - most dental insurance won’t cover you.

During the Iraq war, some reservists and Guard members chose to have their teeth pulled so that they could be deployed, said Maj. Gen. Robert A. McIntosh,in testimony before Congress.

MOVE TO MEXICO- And Give Up Your US Citizenship. Really?

Thinking About Giving up Your U.S. Citizenship? Think Twice - By Alan Olsen CPA, Partner Greenstein Rogoff Olsen & Co. LLP

You want to kick-back in the happy isles of Micronesia or in an ocean front casita in Mexico? Why is it so many of them will trade places with you in a heartbeat?

While not a lot of people ever entertain the thought of giving up their U.S. citizenship, there are more people every year that are making that choice. Among them are several wealthier people whose main reason for renouncing is to escape the country’s overloaded tax system; including extremely high tax rates for the wealthy and those who earn are big global earners.

THE HOTEL GUESTS FROM HELL - Sex, Drugs, Rockers and Complainers - Expedia Survey

Swimming pool partiers practicing unfortunate dance moves account for 22% of the most irritating hotel guests according to a recent Expedia survey. If Mexico only, drunks requesting mariachis to play La Bamba and Guantanamera a hundred times a night would make the list.
A 2015 survey, asked 1,022 Americans to weigh in on the most annoying behaviors exhibited by hotel guests. The study was conducted for Expedia by independent market research company GfK.
Inattentive parents topped the list, aggravating 67% of respondents. Hallway hellraisers annoyed 64% of respondents, followed by complainers (54%).

NEW VIRUS CAUSING MUTATIONS & KILLING US - Playboy Magazine & Marriott are the latest victims

The Gadget Virus is now pandemic. It's killing thousands annually and worse - it's causing Playboy Magazine and Marriott Hotels to drop porn!

Dr. Christina Terrado MD

Our wonderful hand-held gadgets entertain, inform, and allow us to communicate.  But more and more our lives are increasingly ruled by these gadgets. And it should be the other way around.

Humanity is becoming mentally and physically handicapped as a result. The most obvious is the near physical loss of the use of one hand.  And socially, many lose important human interaction due to their obsession with the gadget.

Dining out on a recent night out with my friends, a couple nearby obviously on a date were both so busy with their gadgets that I joked to my friend - they must be texting each other, or worse - texting another boyfriend or girlfriend.

On the news I recently read that that 10% of us text while having sex. What does that tell you?

WHERE TO FIND THE BEST DENTISTS IN LOS CABOS - Dental Tourism News Today

Your Cabo dental vacation will be perfect when you select a Board Certified Mexico Dentist. You don't have to accept 2nd best!

With Los Cabos dentists - quality is problematic and here’s why. General dentists in Mexico untrained in dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, root canals etc. can legally attempt advanced dental procedures by practicing on unsuspecting patients.

This situation is not the result of any conspiracy, or criminality – just less consumer protection laws. It used to be the same situation in the US many decades ago.  But the Mexican government does not get in the way of any general dentists in Mexico who want to learn advanced dentistry the old-fashioned way – by trial and error on their patients (that’s you, me).

7 Good Reasons to Have Another Tequila -

The Aztecs are credited with inventing tequila - (actually a cruder beverage called Pulque) which was restricted to royalty, the elderly, and sacrificial victims. The victims were often juiced up before having their hearts ripped out by obsidian knife wielding Aztec priests. You see - if blood wasn't offered to the sun god each day - the sun might just opt out and not rise the next day.

Anyone who has experienced the painful aftermath of a date with too many margaritas (on, say, May 6) has likely wondered, “What is in this stuff?” While many spirits are useful for activities beyond swilling (vodka, for example, is a great stain and odor remover), tequila holds some particularly magical powers. Not all of them bad. Here are seven of them.

Successful Dental Tourism by Certified Dentists Internationale'

Dental Tourism has become a permanent part of the health care tourism industry - and it it having growing pains and problems that the patient has to consider before getting on a plane for Timbuktu.

By Dr. Sandra Jamala

Reprinted with permission from Dental Tourism News Today.

Dental tourism today faces new challenges according to Ms. Carla Helena Sanchez the new Director of Certified Dentists Internationale.

“The rapidly growing dental tourism industry is in danger of getting a black eye with many dental tourism websites and dental travel brokers promoting any dentist who is willing to pay their annual membership fees regardless of their qualifications."

Many general dentists are guilty for gaming the system by misrepresenting themselves on large dental brokerage website as being "specialists" when in fact they are not certified in any specialty field.
