CABO HURRICANE WATCH - HEADING FOR CABO THIS WEEKEND?

It's 'bout time.

The past few months around the Pacific have been a bit slow, to say the very least. Sure, there’s been a few great moments, but when compared to the start of summer and that brilliant winter brought by El Niño, things have been pretty terrible around Southern California and Hawaii. But that all may soon change, as there appears to be some relief on the horizon.

Lady Gaga is a Hit With Cabo San Lucas Orphans

Lady Gaga is one of the most incredible singers. But apparently Lady Gaga doesn't even need a stage in order to show off her killer vocals.

The 30-year-old songstress performed an amazing rendition of her song Born This Way for a little boy called Christian at an orphanage in Mexico on Sunday.

While she’s currently on vacation following a comeback year and work on a new album, Lady Gaga seemingly can’t pull herself away from charitable causes. She performed an emotionally-charged a capella version of her smash song “Born This Way” at a Mexican orphanage over the weekend.

Puerto Vallarta - Elizabeth Taylor, John Huston's Favorite Haunt is a Great Place To Retire

In 1963, Elizabeth Taylor followed Richard Burton to a sleepy little port on Mexico’s west coast where he was starring, along with Deborah Kerr and Ava Gardner, in a John Huston-directed film called Night of the Iguana.

Puerto Vallarta's Historic District has over a dozen galleries, fine restaurants and nighclubs

For his movie set, John Huston chose Mismaloya, a small village just south of Puerto Vallarta in the Mexican state of Jalisco, for its resemblance to a crumbling coastal village of the 1940s. Elizabeth Taylor took up residence in nearby Puerto Vallarta, which in the 1960s already had a small community of both Mexican and expat artists and writers, drawn by the weather, natural beauty, and relative isolation.

DONALD TRUMP'S FAILED BAJA CONDO PROJECT

Trump's Baja California condo project left buyers feeling betrayed and angry.

When Stephenee Simms heard in 2006 that Donald Trump was building condo towers in Baja, the lure of a posh weekend getaway on the rustic coast just south of Tijuana was hard to resist.

Simms, then an aerospace purchasing agent living in Canoga Park, said she used her life savings to pay a deposit of just over $50,000 for unit No. 602, a one-bedroom overlooking the Pacific.

The sales team gave her a book, bound in blue suede, describing a resort where residents “relax by the infinity-edge pool, margarita in hand, as the cabana boy brings fresh towels.”

It featured Trump, shown smiling in a French gold-leaf chair, telling readers that no words or pictures “can possibly describe what is about to take shape here, but it is certainly going to be the most spectacular place in all of Mexico.”

In the end, nothing at all was built at Trump Ocean Resort, and Simms lost her money. As did about 250 other buyers, most of them from Southern California.

El Chapo Extradition Appeals - Latest News on Legal Moves by Mexico's Drug Lord

MEXICO CITY — Mexican Judges halted the extradition of Joaquín Guzmán Loera, the Mexican drug kingpin known as El Chapo, pending the outcome of appeals filed this week by Mr. Guzmán’s lawyers.
The appeals argue that the statute of limitations has run out on some of the crimes that Mr. Guzmán is accused of committing, his lead lawyer, José Refugio Rodríguez, told The Associated Press. They also argue that some of the accusations are based on hearsay rather than direct evidence, the lawyer said.
